Could our senses be more powerful and varied that we generally have believed they are?
For example, what exactly IS mother's intuition? Most people seem to take for granted that mothers possess this gift just by being mothers, but what SENSES are we using when we have a 'feeling' about one of our children? If you look through the Clairs listed below, you'll see right away that we have more than the 5 senses we are more familiar with.
We use these 5 senses on a daily basis:, probably often without thinking much about them at all.
'Clair' in French, means 'Clear' in English, therefore 'clairaudience' translates as 'clear hearing'. Below are the 5 senses we use much of the time without thinking about them and some uses and new ideas you may or may not already be familiar with.
THE CLAIRS
I have actually experienced most of these at different times, and I finally realized they had meaning I really wanted and needed to connect with.
The ability to see past, present and future, beyond the usual scope of vision.
A heightened awareness of what another is experiencing. Basically, ESP (extra sensory perception). The ability to sense or feel the energy coming from another person and even why they are feeling it and where the feelings originated.
Ability to hear/perceive beyond what is generally audible. Sometimes, it is as clear as a bell....and you might hear a bell, or a word, phrase, any noise and you can feel it is unusual.
This happened to me a few months after we moved into the house we now live in. My husband was sleeping in and I went through an area right outside of our bedroom door and said "Are you alive?". I heard a male voice, not even close to my husbands voice, very clearly say "No, I'm dead". It startled me, but I wasn't scared, just not sure what to make of it. My husband was still asleep when I entered the room.
I have no way of knowing if this is correct, but I felt like it was a man from a time past who lived on this land, but not in the house. I did not feel fearful or threatened. It was almost like he was passing by and simply responded to my question. Okay, it sounds crazy, but I know what I heard. I haven't asked my husband that question again, but I might at some point to see if it happens a second time.

Intuitive, gut feeling. Knowing without any logical or rational explanation that something has happened or will happen in the future. You just know. I had this occur when my daughter was getting ready to leave.
Smelling something that you know is not present. I have experienced this several times and the smell kept repeating over a few days until I put the meaning together. Sometimes I'm a tad thick!
An example of one of my experiences with smell: I smelled an overbearing scent of cigarette smoke several times when there was none at all anywhere around me, nor had there ever been ia smoker n the home in which this occurred. So why did I keep smelling it for days? It was pungent and unpleasant, sometimes overwhelming. I dislike that smell anyway, but this was stronger and worse than ever. It actually choked me. No neighbors, no wind bringing outside air in from somewhere else. No rational explanation at all. Trust me, I looked for a rational explanation. Then it hit me...and the story is coming soon.
This is not the only time I have experienced this phenomenon, but it sure was a powerful one.
Empathic. Knowing how another feels by FEELING their emotions yourself. This can sometimes be overpowering.
Psychometry The ability to read the energy of objects through touch. Just by holding something can allow someone with this powerful Clair to feel the history and energy of an object by touching or holding it.
I had a student years ago who showed me a small wood statue she had purchased in a thrift shop. It looked 'benign'...it was kind of cute, actually. However, when she showed it to her son he went ballistic and told her to get it away from him and just get rid of it. He had never behaved like that before and as I recall, he was about 8 or 9 years old. His response completely threw her. She asked me what I thought she should do. I told her to do as he asked and remove it. He was scared of it, does it matter why? As I said, he had never responded even close to that before about anything, so why upset him..and really, how do we KNOW there wasn't something negative connected to it that he was feeling. She did as I suggested.
'Ability to perceive the essence of a substance from the spiritual or ethereal realms through taste'
Okay, this one is not familiar to me. If it becomes part of my experience, you will hear about it!
