My own journey has always been based upon continual exploration and experimentation,, as well as my responses to both positive and negative experiences that have been tossed my way.
For 30+ years, I taught a wide range of subjects at the college level. After about 10 years in traditional lecture halls and studios, I began teaching online and have enjoyed that immensely.
I am among the few people I know who can honestly say they have loved their work for so many years. The secret is in figuring out what you love doing, being open to change and considering all opportunities even when you aren't sure they are opportunities. You won't go wrong if you follow your heart.
Winston Churchill
In addition to being a British statesman, military officer and Prime Minister, he was a writer and painter. He also suffered the loss of a child.
He wrote:
Happy are the painters,
For they shall not be lonely.
Light and colour, peace and hope,
will keep them company to the end,
or almost to the end, of the day.
They hold such promise.
So, be creative in whatever forms you are drawn to!
You are going to find your way if you are open to doing so and recognizing when to take a new direction or stop and be still for a while. There is no universal blueprint; we each have our very own.
Sometimes this is a real struggle, other times things seem to have fallen into place
We all struggle at times, some more than others. What deeply affects one person may not even be noticed by another and we each have to recognize and follow our own rhythm.
